Blue silk

Blue silk

Blue silk against her skin
           blue silk that falls gently
the length of her body
           that shimmers in the half-light

Cool blue silk
           spun from light itself
mother of all beauty
           blue silk that ripples
in the slightest breeze
           an ocean blue
of sky blue silk
           confected
from the leaves
           of the mulberry

Soft blue silk
           soft against her skin
her pale white skin
           adapting
to the shape of her
           to the make of her
to her gait
           as she strides
around the room
           revelling in the ardour
of his undivided attention
           of his unrepentant affection
of his endlessly
           loving eyes
