                           Venus Flytrap

Strange flowers
       strange savages
that prey upon
       living prey
the Cobra Lily
       the Monkey Cup
the Venus Flytrap
       the Australian Sundew
seductive beauties
       with beguiling names
enticing the innocent
       into the moist
treacherous lips
       of sudden death
